The focus of BERNHARD | BURKARD design studio lies on innovative and creative industrial design services that fits customer and clients. Our aim is to create products with high technical and esthetic standarts on an appropriate resource management.

Our philosophy is based on the development of user-centered industrial design, which is not only aesthetically appealing but also prioritizes the needs of users. Through deliberate design, we consider not only the aesthetic appearance but also the functionality and user-friendliness of our products.

In the development of each design, we place great emphasis on a meaningful use of resources. We strive to find efficient solutions that not only protect the environment but are also economically and sustainably viable. In doing so, we contribute to minimizing the environmental impact of our products while maximizing the benefits for our customers.

Our network of experienced designers, engineers, and human factor experts collaborate closely to develop innovative solutions that meet both user needs and market requirements. Through continuous research and development, we stay at the forefront of user-centered industrial design, setting new standards in the field.

Fabian Bernhard and Thomas Burkard founded the design studio BERNHARD | BURKARD in 2010. Ever since, the studio is successfully working in the different fields of industrial design and development. Their comprehensive experience and excellent network enables the studio to accomplish a project from conception to technical realization - offering a full range of services.

Thomas Burkard holds a masters degree in industrial design. He used to work for the well-known designer Michael Young in Hong Kong and for the facade engineering company Mebatech AG in Baden, where, amongst others, he developed the unique facade of the ethnologial museum in Geneva.
Fabian Bernhard

Before setting up their studio Fabian was working as a design engineer at SIG pack AG, SIG allCap AG and as a creative director at Capartis AG in Schaffhausen. He brings in a profound knowledge in design-engineering, industrial manufacturing and plastic injection.
